Operation K.R.Y.

OPERATION K.R.Y.
OPERATION K.R.Y. IS A TERM GIVEN TO A PRINCIPLE THAT PAUL TAUGHT IN ROMANS 6. IT IS THE KEY TO WALKING THE SPIRITUAL MOMENT BY MOMENT WALK IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE AS GOD HAS PLANNED FOR US. TOO MANY CHRISTIANS TODAY ARE WALKING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IN THE ENERGY OF THE FLESH. IE THEY ARE DOING IT ON THEIR OWN TO THEIR OWN SO CALLED STANDARDS, OR “ THE ETHICAL STANDARDS OF THE CHRISTIAN WAY OF LIFE”.WHILE THESE STANDARDS MAY BE VERY NOBLE AND MORAL, GOD EXPECTS US TO DO THE RIGHT THING IN THE RIGHT WAY. THIS IMPLIES THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO THE RIGHT THING IN THE WRONG WAY. IF WE DO THE RIGHT THING IN THE WRONG WAY IT IS NOT REWARDABLE IN TIME OR ETERNITY AND WHEN WE GET TO THE BEMA SEAT JUDGMENT (2cor 5 v 10, 1 cor 3 v 12-15) ALL WE WILL CREATE IS A BIG BONFIRE OF WOOD, HAY AND STUBBLE. THE RIGHT THING DONE IN THE RIGHT WAY WILL BE REWARDED WITH BLESSING IN TIME AND REWARDS IN ETERNITY. GOLD, SILVER AND PRECIOUS STONES AT THE BEMA SEAT JUDGMENT. WHAT IS THE RIGHT WAY AND WHAT IS THE WRONG WAY?
LET’S START WITH THE WRONG WAY. WHEN MOST OF US BECOME BELIEVERS, WE ARE TOLD “TO GET BUSY FOR JESUS”. THAT IS, JOIN A CHURCH, GO TO ALL THE MEETINGS, GO ROUND THE DOORS, GIVE OUT TRACTS, CAKE SALES, BAKE SALES, ANYTHING TO RAISE MONEY OR HELP OUT. WE ARE TOLD, DON’T DO THIS, DON’T DO THAT, AND DO THIS AND DO THAT. ALL OF THESE THINGS MAY BE VERY COMMENDABLE BUT AS A NEW BELIEVER HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE UNTIL WE “BURN OUT”. NORMALLY IT WILL NOT TAKE LONG UNTIL THE “ROSY GLOW” OR “THE NEW CAR SMELL WEARS OFF” AND THE NEW BELIEVER IS LEFT WONDERING, “THERE MUST BE MORE TO IT THAN THIS.” IT IS AT THIS STAGE NORMALLY THAT THE PERSON IS TOLD TO EITHER SEEK FOR THE BAPTISING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT OR GO IN FOR ENTIRE SANCTIFICATION. THIS WILL DEPEND ON THE DENOMINATIONAL BACKGROUND OR CHURCH THEY HAVE JOINED. EACH OF THESE TWO EXPERIANCES ARE BELIEVED TO BE FOR POWER FOR SERVICE OR POWER OVER SIN. UNFORTUNATLY NEITHER OF THESE TWO “EXPERIANCES” ARE STRICTLY CORRECT WHEN USED IN THIS WAY. A BRIEF EXPLANATION IS REQUIRED AT THIS STAGE. THE 1ST ONE, BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT EVIDENCED BY SPEAKING IN TONGUES STEMS FROM THE CHARASMATIC MOVEMENT WHO DO NOT “RIGHTLY DIVIDE” THE SCRIPTURE. THEY INSIST THAT BECAUSE IN CORINTIANS PAUL SAID “FORBID NOT TO SPEAK IN TONGUES” THAT TONGUES ARE FOR TODAY. TONGUES ARE NOT FOR TODAY. NO ONE HAS SPOKEN IN TONGUES VALIDLY SINCE 70 AD. TONGUES WERE FOR A SIGN TO UNBELIEVING JEWS WHO WERE IMPENDING THE 5TH CYCLE OF DICIPLINE (lev 26). WHEN IN 70 AD THE JEWS WERE PUT OUT OF THEIR COUNTRY JERUSALEM, THE SIGN WAS NO LONGER NEEDED. THUS IT CEASED. WHAT WE SEE TODAY MAY BE REAL BUT IT IS NOT SCRIPTURAL. A SPECIAL POINT TO NOTE, “EVERTHING THAT IS REAL IS NOT FROM GOD.” THE 2ND ONE, ENTIRE SANCTIFICATION OR 2ND BLESSING STEMS FROM THE HOLINESS MOVEMENTS. AGAIN, DEPENDING ON WHICH DENOMINATION YOU ARE COMING FROM, THE RESULTS OF THE EXPERIENCE WILL VARY. BUT BASICLY WHEN YOU GET ENTIRELY SANCTIFIED YOU GET THE HOLY SPIRIT AND YOU HAVE THE POWER OVER SIN, IN FACT SOME TEACH THAT THE OLD SIN NATURE IS COMPLETLEY ERRADICATED. YOU WILL BE COMPLETELY HOLY. BOTH OF THESE EXPERIANCES WILL BE ARDENTLY HELD TO AND BACKED UP BY SCRIPTURE BUT IT WILL BE WRONGLY DIVIDED SCRIPTURE. THE TRUTH IS, EVERY BELIVER AT THE MOMENT OF SALVATION IS BAPTISED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT INTO CHRIST AND INDWELLED BY THE SPIRIT FOREVER, ENTIRELY SANCTIFIED “POSITIONLY” AND IS CONTINUALY BEING SANCTIFIED “CONDITIONALY” THROUGHOUT THE BELIVERS LIFE UNTIL DEATH OR THE RAPTURE WHEN THEY ARE ULTIMATLY SANCTIFIED.
AS STATED BEFORE, THIS IS ONLY A BRIEF EXPLANATION OF THESE EXPERIANCES AND MUCH MORE COULD BE SAID. HOWEVER THAT IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER.
ONCE THE PERSON GOES IN FOR EITHER OF THESE TWO EXPERIANCES, AND BY THE WAY, THEY WILL GET THEM, A FORM OF EMOTION, THEY NOW PROGRESS A LITTLE FURTHER ALONG THE ROAD, LIVING IN THE JOY OF THEIR RECENT EXPERIENCE. BUT ALAS AFTER A WHILE THE MEMORY OF IT WILL FADE, JUST AS THE “NEW CAR SMELL” WORE OFF, SO WILL THE EXPERIENCE AND ANOTHER MUST BE SOUGHT TO REKINDLE THE FIRE. SO THE PROCESS GOES ON.
THIS IS NOT THE WAY IT IS TO BE. GOD HAS A WAY IN WHICH WE CAN SERVE AND DO THE RIGHT THING IN THE RIGHT WAY AND NEVER BURN OUT. IT IS CALLED “WALKING BY MEANS OF THE SPIRIT”. IF WE STOP RIGHT THERE WE WILL ONLY HAVE SAID,” WHAT TO DO” AND NOT “HOW TO DO”. THAT IS WHAT OPERATION K.R.Y. IS ALL ABOUT. THE “HOW TO”
BEFORE WE CAN START TO UNDERSTAND SPIRITUAL TRUTHS, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE ARE IN FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO IS GOING TO BE OUR TRUE TEACHER (JOHN 16 V 12-16). IN ORDER TO DO THIS WE MUST BE:
1: CLEAN BEFORE GOD THROUGH CONFESSION OF PERSONAL SINS. 1 JOHN 1V9 TELLS US, “IF (3RD CLASS CONDITION IN THE GREEK, MAYBE WE WILL, MAYBE WE WONT) WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US AND CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUNESS.” WHEN WE CONFESS THE KNOWN (LORD I LIED, I CHEATED, I SWORE ETC ETC) HE FORGIVES US AND CLEANSES US FROM THE UNKNOWN (THE SINS WE COMMIT THAT WE DON’T KNOW ARE SINS). THIS PAVES THE WAY FOR US TO BE IN FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
2: DOING THE TRUTH. WE NEED TO BE APPLYING ALL THE TRUTH WE KNOW TO OUR LIVES. WHEN WE KNOW THE TRUTH AND WE DON’T DO IT, IT IS CALLED QUENCHING THE SPIRIT. QUENCHING THE SPIRIT IS ALSO SIN AND PUTS UP A BARRIER BETWEEN GOD AND US.
3: YEILD. WHEN WE ARE CLEAN BEFORE GOD, DOING ALL THE TRUTH WE KNOW, WE NEED TO BE YEILDED TO THE POWER OF THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT WHO IS GOING TO DO 7 DIFFERENT THINGS ONE OF WHICH IS PRODUCE CHRISTIAN CHARACTER AND, TWO, TEACH YOU.
THIS IS THE “HOW TO” OF BEING A SPIRITUAL BELIEVER AS OPPOSED TO BEING A CARNAL BELIEVER. (1 COR 2 V14 – 16, 1 COR 3 V 1 – 4)
CARNAL BELIEVERS CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE SPIRTUAL TRUTHS BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY APPRAISED.

KNOW, RECKON AND YIELD

K.R.Y.
1. K NOW
2. R ECKON
3. Y IELD
1. ROMANS 6 V 6. KNOWING THIS, THAT OUR OLD MAN WAS CRUCIFIED WITH HIM, THAT THE BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DESTROYED, THAT HENCEFORTH WE SHOULD NO LONGER SERVE SIN.
WHEN JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS, NOT ONLY DID HE DIE, BUT YOU DIED TOO. I WILL SAY THAT AGAIN. YOU DIED TOO. NOW YOU KNOW THAT YOU COULD NOT POSSIBLY HAVE DIED, BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT EVEN THERE AND YOU ARE READING THIS AT THE MOMENT SO HOW COULD YOU BE DEAD. LET ME EXPLAIN. GOD SAID THAT YOUR OLD MAN (that’s your old sin nature) DIED AT THE CROSS. NOT ONLY DID JESUS DIE BUT YOU DIED WITH HIM. HE MADE A JUDICIAL STATEMENT THAT SAID YOUR OLD MAN WAS CRUCFIED ALONG WITH CHRIST. THAT OLD SIN NATURE YOU HAVE IN YOU (which you will always have until death or the rapture, it is never eradicated in this life) THAT IS ALWAYS WARING WITH YOU TO DO THE WRONG THING, IN GODS EYES IT IS DEAD. HE CAN ONLY SEE THE NEW NATURE IN YOU. GALATIONS 2 V 20 SAYS, I AM CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST, NEVERTHELESS I LIVE. PAUL IS NOT TALKING ABOUT HIS PHYSICAL BODY BUT THE SIN NATURE WITHIN. IT IS A POSITIONAL TRUTH THAT WE MUST TAKE AND BELIEVE BY FAITH. JUST THE SAME AS WE TAKE SALVATION BY FAITH.GOD SAID IT AND IM GOING TO BELIEVE IT.
THAT BRINGS US TO THE NEXT POINT.
2. ROMANS 6 V 11. LIKEWISE RECKON YOURSELVES ALSO TO BE DEAD UNTO SIN, BUT ALIVE UNTO GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.
WE HAVE TO LEARN TO TAKE GODS VIEWPOINT. WE HAVE TO RECKON OR CONSIDER OURSELVES DEAD. THE WORD ALSO IS USED IN THIS VERSE BECAUSE THERE ARE TWO PERSONS INVOLVED. ONE IS GOD AND THE OTHER IS YOU. SO YOU ALSO, AS WITH GOD, HAVE TO RECKON THIS TO JUDICIAL STATEMENT TO BE TRUE. IT HAS TO BE TAKEN BY FAITH.
3. ROMANS 6 V 13. NEITHER YIELD YE YOUR MEMBERS AS INSTRUMENTS OF UNRIGHTEOUSSNESS UNTO SIN, BUT YIELD YOURSELVES UNTO GOD AS THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE FROM THE DEAD.
WHEN WE KNOW AND RECKON, THE 3RD THING WE DO IS YIELD OURSELVES TO GOD AS ONES WHO KNOW THIS TRUTH. WE SAY, GOD, HERE I AM, YOU SAID IM DEAD, I BELIEVE IT TO BE SO AND I AM YIELDING MYSELF TO YOU.
WHEN WE APPLY THIS PRINCIPLE TO OUR LIVES WE WILL BEGIN TO HAVE THE VICTORY OVER THE WORLD THE FLESH AND THE DEVIL. WE ARE TO LIVE OUT OF OUR POSITION AND NOT OUR CONDITION. WHEN WE SEE IT FROM GOD’S VIEWPOINT AND TAKE HIS SIDE, WE WILL STOP TRYING TO ALWAYS PLEASE GOD WITH OUR GOOD WORKS BUT THE GOOD WORKS WILL COME FORTH FROM THE FACT OF WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE ABOUT US. THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH THE NEW NATURE WILL BRING FORTH THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT. YOU WILL FIND THAT THINGS YOU WERE DOING THAT ARE NOT PLEASING TO GOD WILL BECOME OFFENSIVE TO YOU. YOU WILL SEE YOURSELVE AS A “CLEAN VESSEL” BEFORE GOD. ONE THAT YOU DON’T WANT TO TARNISH. IT IS NOT A ONE OFF EXPERIENCE BUT SOMETHING WHICH IS TO BE DONE MOMENT BY MOMENT IN EACH AND EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE THAT COMES OUR WAY.

Arminianism, Calvaninism and the Truth

Arminianism, Calvaninism and the Truth

ARMINIAN VIEWPOINT

5 POINTS OF ARMINIAN VIEW POINT

(AS QUOTED BY LEWIS SPERRY CHAFER SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY VOL 7 PAGE 137)

1. CONDITIONAL ELECTION ACCORDING TO GODS FOREKNOWLEDGE OF SUPPOSED HUMAN WORTHINESS.

2. A UNIVERSAL REDEMPTION, BUT ONLY THOSE WHO BELIEVE TO BE SAVED.

3. SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH.

4. GRACE IS NOT IRRESISTIBLE.

5. FALLING FROM GRACE POSSIBLE.

JOHN 3V16 FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.

2 PETER 3V9 … NOT WISHING ANY TO PERISH BUT FOR ALL TO COME TO REPENTANCE.

1 TIM 2V4 …WHO DESIRES ALL MEN TO BE SAVED AND COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH.

IN ESSENCE, THOSE WHO ARE OF THIS SYSTEM OF THINKING, BELIEVE THAT MANS WILL IS THE ULTIMATE ISSUE AND THAT MAN CAN CHOOSE TO BE SAVED IF AND WHEN HE WANTS. IF HE HAS THE CHOICE TO CHOOSE TODAY, THEN HE HAS THE CHOICE TO REJECT TOMMORROW. GOD PROVIDES COMMON GRACE AND MAN CHOOSES WHETHER OR NOT TO BELIEVE. THIS IS SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH.  IF MAN CAN CHOOSE TO BE SAVED THEN IT FOLLOWS THAT MAN CAN REJECT GOD AND BECOME UNSAVED IF HE CHOOSES. SOME HOLD THE POSITION THAT IF A MAN SINS HE CAN LOOSE HIS SALVATION AND BECOME A “BACKSLIDER” OR “FALLEN FROM GRACE” AND NEEDS TO BE “RE-SAVED”.

PROBLEMS CONCERNING THIS VIEWPOINT

THIS VIEWPOINT TAKES MANS WILL TO THE LEVEL OF SOVEREIGNTY. MAN ULTIMATELY SAVES HIMSELF BY USING THE COMMON GRACE PROVISION. MAN CAN NEVER BE SURE OF HIS SALVATION BECAUSE HOW CAN HE KNOW THAT SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE HE IS NOT GOING TO REJECT GOD. WHAT SIN OR HOW MUCH SIN DOES ONE HAVE TO COMMIT UNTIL ONE LOOSES HIS SALVATION?  NO SCRIPTURE WHEN “RIGHTLY DIVIDED” TEACHES THAT MAN CAN LOOSE HIS SALVATION.

 CALVINISTIC VIEWPOINT

5 POINTS OF CALVINISTIC VIEWPOINT (BY CHAFER. SAME PAGE.)

1.TOTAL INABILITY OF FALLEN MAN (TOTAL DEPRAVITY)

2. UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION

3. A LIMITED REDEMPTION. (LIMITED ATONEMENT)

4. EFFICACIOUS DIVINE GRACE. (IRRESISTIBLE GRACE)

5. PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS.

JOHN 6V44 NO-ONE CAN COME TO ME UNLESS THE FATHER WHO SENT ME DRAWS HIM…

EPHESIANS 1V4 JUST AS HE CHOSE US IN HIM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD…

IN ESSENCE, THOSE WHO ARE OF THIS SYSTEM OF THINKING, BELIEVE THAT IN ETERNITY PAST GOD DECREED FOR SOME TO BE SAVED AND OTHERS TO BE LOST AND THAT MAN HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PART TO PLAY IN THE DECISION. IT WAS GOD WHO DECIDED. THEY BELIEVE IN THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER BECAUSE OF THE FACT OF ELECTION. GOD “DRAWS” MEN OR ” CALLS” THEM AND THAT CALLING IS SO IRRESISTIBLE THAT MAN HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO CHOSE. THIS IS IRRESISTIBLE GRACE. AN OFFER SO GOOD HOW COULD YOU REFUSE? BUT HE ONLY CALLS THOSE WHOM HE HAS ELECTED. JESUS ONLY DIED FOR THOSE WHO WOULD BE SAVED AND NO-ONE ELSE. THIS IS THE LIMITED ATONEMENT.

PROBLEMS CONCERNING THIS VIEWPOINT

HOW DO YOU EVER KNOW IF YOU ARE ELECT?

IF GODS GRACE IS SO IRRESISTIBLE THAT MAN CANNOT BUT CHOSE THEN IT IS NOT A CHOICE.

JESUS SAID THAT HE DIED FOR ALL

THIS VIEWPOINT IS A DIRECT ATTACK ON THE CHARACTER AND NATURE OF GOD, A GOD WHO IS COMPLETELY RIGHTEOUS AND JUST AND DESIRES ALL MEN TO BE SAVED. 2Tim 2V4

CONCLUSION AND 3RD VIEWPOINT OPTION

SAD TO SAY, THAT TODAY THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE IN SOCIETY EXPECT TO FALL AND EXPECT YOU TO FALL INTO ONE OF THESE TWO SYSTEMS OF THINKING. EITHER CALVINISM OR ARMINIANISM. HOWEVER, THERE IS A THIRD OPTION. ONE WHICH RECONCILES THE TWO VIEWS AND SATISFIES THE SEEMING CONTRADICTIONS.

GODS WORD CANNOT CONTRADICT ITSELF. IF IT DID IT WOULD NOT BE GODS WORD. WHEN WE LOOK AT THESE TWO VIEWS WE DO SEEM TO HAVE A CONTRADICTION. IE.

“WHOSOEVER WILL” AND “NO-ONE COMES EXCEPT”

IT IS VERY OBVIOUS TO ANY READER THAT THESE TWO TERMS CONTRADICT EACH OTHER. THEN WE HAVE A PROBLEM. WE KNOW THAT GOD CANNOT CONTRADICT HIMSELF SO THERE MUST BE SOME FORM OF RECONCILIATION AND THERE IS.

GODS “OMNISCIENCE”(ALL KNOWING) RECONCILES THE TWO.

GODS SOVEREIGNTY SAYS THAT “WHOSOEVER WILL BELIEVE SHALL BE SAVED” AND GODS OMNISCIENCE SEES THAT DECISION THAT MAN MADE AND THUS BECOMES ELECT OR NOT. NO HUMAN BEING IS EVER PART OF THE ELECT WITHOUT MAKING A CHOICE TO BELIEVE.

THUS MAN HAS A CHOICE BUT GOD ALREADY KNEW THAT CHOICE FROM ETERNITY PAST. GOD LOOKED DOWN THE CORRIDORS OF TIME, AND SAW YOU MAKE A DESCISION EITHER TO BELIEVE OR TO REJECT THE OFFER OF SALVATION. GOD DID NOT MAKE THE DECISION NOR DID HE VIOLATE MANS FREEWILL. MANS FREEWILL IS THE ISSUE IN THE  “ANGELIC CONFLICT“. (FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT WWW.GBIBLE.ORG) WITHOUT FREEWILL MAN WOULD BE JUST A ROBOT OR A PUPPET. THE ABILITY TO CHOOSE SOMEONE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE ABILITY NOT TO CHOOSE. E.G. A MAN PUTS A GUN TO HIS WIFE’S HEAD AND SAYS “ DO YOU LOVE ME” SHE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO SAY YES. THIS IS FORCED, BUT GOD NEVER FORCES HIMSELF ON ANYONE NOR WOULD HE WANT ANYONE TO LOVE HIM UNDER DURESS.

GOD IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHTEOUS, FAIR AND JUST. MAN HAS NO CHOICE IN THE FACT THAT HE IS BORN IN SIN. THEREFORE, IF SOMEONE WENT TO THE LAKE OF FIRE FOR ETERNITY AND NEVER WAS GIVEN THE CHOICE OF SALVATION, THEN HE (THE PERSON) WOULD BE RIGHT AND HAVE A CASE TO SAY THAT GOD WAS UNJUST AND NOT FAIR. AS GODS CREATED CREATURES, HE (GOD)HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY MEMBER OF THE HUMAN RACE HAS THAT CHOICE TO CHOOSE OR REJECT GODS PLAN FOR SALVATION. (FAITH ALONE IN CHRIST ALONE) EPHESIANS 2 V 8,9. AND ACCORDING TO ECCLESIASTES 3 V 11 …HE HAS SET ETERNITY IN THEIR HEART (NAS) AND ROMANS 1 V 18-20 ,GOD HAS PLACED A DESIRE AND A KNOWLEDGE OF HIMSELF IN EVERY PERSON, ALTHOUGH THIS KNOWLEDGE IS BY THE MAJORITY OF THE HUMAN RACE SUPPRESSED OR HID OR RATIONALIZED AWAY OR DECEIVED. GOD DOES DESIRE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED 1 TIM 2V4, 2 PETER 3 V 9, AND ALL MEN CAN BE SAVED ALTHOUGH THE REALITY IS THAT ALL MEN ARE NOT SAVED BUT IT IS OF THEIR OWN CHOICE. GOD NEVER SENDS ANYONE TO HELL AND ULTIMATLEY THE LAKE OF FIRE, THEY CHOOSE TO GO THERE BY THEIR REJECTION OF THE GOSPEL.

Angelic Conflict

Angelic Conflict

Ep 6 v10.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

There is a spiritual war going on in an invisible realm that we in this present dispensation cannot see. The above verse is one of many which tell us of this warfare and of angels both demonic and good. Actually the two types of angels are called, ELECT and FALLEN.

When the angels were created, the Bible does not say, but we can deduce by means of “Inductive Reasoning” that the angels where created before man. JOB 38v7. They were created with volition and the most highly “ranked” the most intelligent and most beautiful was, who we now know as “Satan”. Satan is the number one creation to ever come from the “hand” of God. We have a description of him in Ezekiel 28 v 11-19. Verse 14 tells us that he was “The anointed cherub that covereth.” This simply means that he was the ceremonial guard at the throne room of God. However, after an undisclosed period of time, satan’s problem became arrogance. He decided that he wanted to be like God. In Isaiah 14, we have the five “I will’s” of Satan.

1: I will ascend into heaven

2: I will raise my throne above the stars of God

3: I will sit on the mount of the assembly, in the recesses of the north

4: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds

5: I will make myself LIKE the Most High.

The first sin ever committed in the universe was the sin of arrogance. Satan “said in his heart”. This was the first time any creature ever went against Gods will. With his intelligence and charisma he persuaded a number of the angels to follow him. This greatly displeased God and He had to condemn them, but God in his mercy offered a means of redemption (Heb 2v2). This offer was available for an undisclosed period of time and the method of redemption is not told to us in the Bible.

Satan and one third of the angels rejected this plan of salvation from God, and God condemned them to the Lake of Fire. Mth 25 v41 …eternal fire, which HAS been prepared for the devil and his angels.

This begs the question “if God condemned Satan to the lake of fire back then, why is he not in it now. We read in Rev 20 v 10 that the devil will be thrown into the lake of fire at the end of the millennium. So we have a time span between God condemning or sentencing Satan to hell and Him actually carrying out the judgement and putting him there.

This is where man comes in. This is why God created man. For the purpose of resolving the angelic conflict. God didn’t create man so he would have someone to love, or because he was lonely as a lot of Christians think, (if I was God, I wouldn’t create me to resolve my loneliness!) He created man to prove to Satan that if a lower creature would follow Him then it follows that Satan could have but didn’t so God is justified in sending him to the lake of fire.

Let’s take that again step by step.

A: God created angels with volition.

B: Satan acted independently of God. (5 I will’s)

C: God sentenced Satan. Mth 25 v 41

D: Satan challenged the character of God “How can a loving God send one of His      creatures to the lake of fire?”

E: God’s answer: “I will create man with volition, just like I created angels with volition; however, I will create man lower than the angels. Then, if even one man, created lower than the angels, uses his volition to follow me, this will imply that you, Satan, could have followed me if you had so chosen. But because you didn’t and could have, so therefore I am justified in sending you to the lake of fire.”

F: Every time a member of the human race chooses for God, the character of God is vindicated and Satan looses his argument.

Try and imagine it like a courtroom scene, where God is the judge and Satan is the defendant representing himself, trying to justify his actions by appealing to the love attribute of God. (Many people only think of God as love, but he has 9 other attributes; varsity, immutability, righteousness, justice, eternal, sovereignty, omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresent, that all work together in perfect harmony and never conflict or contradict.)

Human history then is the ongoing appeal of Satan to God to try and justify himself and prove that God is unfair and unjust in His sentence. This is why we have four main dispensations, (Gentiles, Israel, Church, and Millennium) each having their own set of rules to live by. Each dispensation is answering another or even many objections that Satan has made. Each time man chooses for God, God is glorified and Satan looses. Satan is constantly trying to blind man and deceive him from the truth and to divert his attention away from God, just like he did in the Garden of Eden. Each time Satan does something that he thinks will “blow” Gods plan, God in His mercy gives man grace, even though man fails and continues to fail. The ultimate form of grace was God becoming man, and lowering Himself to our level and coming to earth and paying the price for our sins. A price which only He alone could pay. This was the final “nail in the coffin” for Satan. God paid the ultimate price. His own life. He proved to Satan that He is an absolutely righteous and just God. (Grace is “God’s provision”. We did not earn it or deserve it. God provided it because of who He is and not because of what or who we are.)

Let’s see the conflict in action

Turn to the book of Job. This by the way is the oldest book in the Bible. It tells us of a man who was upright and blameless before God. Once again, picture our courtroom scene. Verse 6 tells us that one day Satan and his angels came to present themselves before God. (Stop a moment and think about that. Satan has access into heaven!) And God said to Satan “what do you think of my servant Job. There is none like him in all the earth.” Here is God “bragging” to Satan about Job. Satan answered Him saying,” I see him, but he only loves you because you bless him and keep a hedge round about him”. What did God reply to him? “Don’t you touch him!”, no He didn’t, He said, “Go ahead then and test him but don’t touch him physically.” So Satan went to work on him and took all his possessions and family (except his wife!!) and Job didn’t curse God. He said these words,” the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.

Do we read that Satan said, “sorry God I was wrong about Job and you were right” No he did not. Arrogance does this to people; they will not admit they are wrong. Instead Satan said let me touch his body and give him a disease and he will curse you. God said “alright, just don’t kill him” So Satan covered Job’s body with boils from head to toe. And just to top it off, when the pain couldn’t get any worse, his wife starts nagging him “why don’t you curse God and die” and yet through it all Job sinned not against God.

It is not the purpose of this paper to give all the details about Job, but only to point out some very important facts that relate to the angelic conflict that are revealed through Job.

1: Satan has access to heaven and allowed to approach God. He still does to this day.

2: If there is no angelic conflict, why would God let Satan afflict Job?

3: Job was upright and blameless. Equivalent to a mature believer in the church age

4: God “brag’s” about certain believers. This is a very great privilege.

5: Job was blessed 10 times over what he originally had

6: Job was not warned by God that this was going to happen

7: It was absolutely undeserved suffering. Job did nothing wrong

8: Job was being used by God to prove to Satan that he could have followed God

9: Job was being used by God to prove to Satan that a lower creature could follow God even through suffering and still say that God is a fair and just God.

10: Satan has power over the flesh, only as God permits.

Here is a man, who unknown to him, was given the greatest privilege that any believer can have, God bragging about him in heaven to Satan and then letting Satan put him through great tests of affliction. This may not sound like a great privilege when you read all about what Job lost and it may not be easy to understand why, but each of us have the opportunity to become mature believers and have God brag about us and enter us into the courtroom scene and help put another nail in Satan’s “coffin”. It’s called “undeserved suffering for blessing.” The blessing for it will far out weigh what you may have to go through. You may not be called to suffer as much as Job, but you may be called to go through suffering in a lesser way and Paul tell us in 1 Cor 10v13 that we will never be tempted beyond what we can handle.

Some myths about Satan.

He is in Hell.  No he is not. Has been condemned to lake of fire but he is not here yet. Mat 25 v41

He is ruler of Hell. Absolutely not. He doesn’t even want to be there. He is ruler of this earth. John 14 v 30, 1 John 5 v 19

He is a big, scary, ugly monster with horns and a pitchfork. No. He is the most beautiful intelligent creature to ever come from the hand of God. Ezekiel 28 v 11

He is everywhere present. No he can only be in one place at one time. That rules out the idea that Christians have of the devil chasing them to make them sin. It is unlikely that any of us will be important enough to get personal attention from Satan. He is busy with men in positions of great authority. Job 1 v 7

We have authority to “bind Satan” in the name of Jesus. No we do not. Only Jesus has that privilege and it won’t happen until just before the millennium. Even Michael the Arch-angel wouldn’t speak a railing accusation against him but he said the Lord rebuke you. Jude 9. When people pray asking God to bind Satan, they are showing their ignorance of Satanology. God does not answer this prayer because they ask “amiss” James 4 v 3

He is the opposite of God. No. He tries to counterfeit God and His attributes. A counterfeit is only as good as it is close to the original. In many ways he seems to be like God. Isaiah 14v 12-17

He wants to make you sin. No. He is not personally going after you to make you sin. We sin from our own volition influenced by the old sin nature in our flesh, influence from the world and influence from the kingdom of darkness and Satan’s schemes. Satan wants this world to be perfect. He wants man to obey him and do good independently from God, so that he can say to God, “I told you I could rule this world just as well as you.” Alas we know from the state of the world, that Satan has not got the power required to rule the world and this world is an embarrassment to him. Unfortunately the majority of Christians do not understand why they are here and what their purpose is and just get busy trying to clean up Satan’s world. 1 John 2 v 15-16.

Satan wants to deceive the world from the truth of God and His plan for Salvation. He has many systems of false doctrine in place to deceive the average Christian and keep them from growing into “the image of Christ”(Romans 8v29). Satan does not want to destroy church’s but get them involved in cleaning up his world, false doctrine, works etc. Anything but the study of God’s word.

With just a little doctrine in your soul, you will be able to see these schemes and falsehoods promoted by Satan and he does not want that.

God Sees Three Men

GOD SEES THREE MEN

Scripture references for this topic are as follows:

1 Cor 2 v14-15   14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.15 But he who is spiritual, appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no man.

1 Cor 3 v1 And I brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to babes in Christ.

John 9 v 31 We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing, and does His will, He hears him.

Prov 15 v 29 (The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous)

James 5 v 16 The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much)

1 John 1 v 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Job 35 12-13 There they cry out, but He does not answer. Because of the pride of evil men. Surely God will not listen to an empty cry nor will the Almighty regard it.

Isaiah 59 1-2  Behold the Lords hand is not so short that it cannot save, neither is his ear so dull that it cannot hear, but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

The aim of this lesson is to show through the scripture that God only sees three types of men (women implied also) and that the prayers of each type of man are affected accordingly.

The three types of men we see in the Corinthian passages are as follows:

NATURAL MAN.  – The Greek word for this type of man is Suukykus. It means “the soulish man or the man with body and soul but no spirit.” It is the unregenerate man or in simple terms “an unbeliever”

MEN OF FLESH or CARNAL MAN. – The Greek word for this type of man is Sarkykus. It means “the carnal believer” or the believer who is out of fellowship with the Holy Spirit through personal sin or a lifestyle of sin.

SPIRITUAL MEN – the Greek word for this type of man is Pnumateka. It means the believer who is “walking by means of the Spirit” rightly related to the Holy Spirit by means of confession of personal sins, a yieldedness to the Spirit of God and applying all the Truth he knows to his life.

As we can see, God sees three types of men, the unsaved, the carnal believer and the spiritual believer. As to what God hears in the way of prayer and what God responds to in the way of prayer is the next thing that will be dealt with. Bear in mind that God is an omnisciencent God. He knows everything and hears everything we say regardless of what type of man we are but it is his response to what he hears is the issue.

WHO DOES GOD HEAR?

NATURAL MAN – John 9 v 31 says that God does not hear sinners. This must be interpreted in the context that it was written in. Sinners in this passage are referring to the unsaved man. This statement then begs the question, “How then can an unbeliever be saved?” The answer is simple, salvation does not require prayer. Volition is the issue in salvation, “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.”(Acts 16 v 31) However, more often than not, prayer is used to communicate to God your belief, but it is the belief that God sees and not the prayer that He hears.

SPIRITUAL MAN – in the same verse we read that “if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears them.” Again we must interpret this in the context of who it was spoken to. It was spoken to Jews who were under the Law so we must interpret it to the Church Age who are not under the Law but under Grace. So we read it like this, “if any man is saved (God-fearing) and fulfilling Gods will (which is to be conformed to the image of His Son by means of the power of the Holy Spirit) then He hears him.

CARNAL MAN – it follows on then by logic that if a believer is not doing Gods will, being conformed to the image of His son by means of the Holy Spirit, then God does not hear him. We know that in 1 John 1 v 9, if we confess our sins He will forgive us, so from this we can deduce that God only hears the prayers of confession from carnal believers. We see in the Isaiah passage that Israel’s iniquities had made a separation between them and God, and God was not hearing them. The same is true for church age believers who sin. Their sin separates them from God (not loss of salvation). It puts them out of fellowship into carnality.

When we take a look at the passage in Job 35, we see that God is not listening to these people because of their pride. Pride is one of God’s top 7 sins that He hates. (Proverbs 6 v 16) They are crying out to Him but He does not hear.

CONCLUSION

From what we have just studied we can conclude as follows:

God only hears and responds to the spiritual man, He only hears the prayer of confession of personal sins of the carnal man and He does not hear the prayers of the natural man.

James tells us “the fervent prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much” This would be talking specifically about the spiritual man and not the carnal man. Even though we know that all who are saved are made righteous, this is a positional righteousness, which never changes, and not conditional (experiential) righteousness, which we have been dealing with in this study. Another way of expressing these two view-points is UNION and COMMUNION. Our UNION never changes in Gods eyes but our COMMUNION with Him, specifically the Holy Spirit, does change through grieving (sinning) and quenching (knowing the right thing to do but not doing it) the Spirit and an unwillingness to yield to the Spirit. When we are not in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, God does not respond to our prayers. Therefore it is of utmost importance that each time we pray, we are sure that we are on “praying ground”, by being clean before the Lord through the confession of our own personal sins, (“Lord I lied, I stole, I cheated…. Whatever it is we have done that our conscience is convicting us of, we are to name it), being yielded to the power of the Holy Spirit to allow Him to produce in us the 9 fold fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5 v 22) and doing (applying) all the Truth we know. (Walking in the Light as He is in the Light. 1 John 1v7)

THE SUPPLY LINE – PRAYER

Prayer is the believer’s supply line.  The Bible is God’s communication to us; prayer is our response to Him.  From His Word we receive instructions and encouragement.  From our prayers, He receives our thanks and our requests.  Until the line of communication with God is open two ways, our relationship with Him will never be what it is intended to be.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16                Rejoice always;

17                pray without ceasing;

18                in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.   (NAS)

“Pray without ceasing” does not mean that we are to pray non-stop 24 hours a day.  The phrase literally says that prayer should be like a hacking cough.  Anyone who has ever had a severe cold knows that a hacking cough seems to be always right below the surface, ready to erupt.

We should pray to God throughout the day in the same way that we would talk with a close friend.  When two people who know each other well work together, they start a conversation in the morning that lasts all day.  The talk will not be continuous; there may be long periods of silence during which they may communicate with only looks or gestures.  In the course of a day, their conversation may cover a hundred topics – politics, the meaning of life, what to have for lunch, the colors in a beautiful sunset.

When we finally realize that God is the best friend we have, our prayer life starts to take on this kind of flavor.  We come to understand that there is nothing in our lives that we should not pray about.  The more we listen to God by studying the Word, the better we understand His character; the better we understand His character, the more clearly we realize that there is nothing that we cannot rejoice in and give thanks about.

Communication is the key to a healthy relationship in the physical realm.  Even so, our verbal exchanges with other people are never quite what we want them to be.  Not one of us is able to fully express what we think or how we feel.  Not one of us is able to fully understand or appreciate the thoughts and feelings that others try to explain to us.  So in the physical realm there is always a certain amount of frustration and unfulfillment in relationships.

In the spiritual realm we have potential for clear and fulfilling communication, for both understanding and being understood.  God’s Word to us is perfect.  Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit it was perfectly communicated in exactly the form that we need.  When we study, the Holy Spirit will enlighten the eyes of our heart so that we can understand what God is saying to us from this passage on this day.

When we pray, the Holy Spirit will intercede on our behalf to the Father, expressing those things for which we cannot find words.

Romans 8:26

26                And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for {us} with groanings too deep for words;   (NAS)

And, if we have stored Scripture in our hearts, the Spirit will be able to recall to our minds the words of God that we need at just the moment we need them.  We have in the Christian way of life a perfect system.  As long as we rely on remaining yielded to the Holy Spirit, that system cannot fail.

It has been said that prayer is the gymnasium of the soul.  The fourth-century church father Augustine said:  “Pray as if everything depended on God, and then work as if everything depended on you.”  His dictum is a summary of the Lord’s instructions to the disciples in Matthew 7.

Matthew 7:7-11

7                “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.

8                “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.

9                “Or what man is there among you, when his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone?

10                “Or if he shall ask for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?

11                “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!   (NAS)

The Lord gives three commands and three promises:  If we ask, God will answer; if we seek, we will find; if we knock, God will open the door.

God wants to answer prayer.  To illustrate that point, Jesus uses the analogy of a hungry child asking his father for food.  The child makes a request.  The parent is evil, but out of the evil parent comes a good gift.  Why?  The parent loves the child and love can bring even from those who are evil, relative good.

Now think of God, who is absolute good.  Why is it that we think that the God who is righteous, just and perfect in every way would give us anything less than the best?  How could we imagine that He would be less concerned and less gracious with us than we are with our children?

Each of the three promises Jesus makes in regard to prayer is conditional.  Each is based on our obeying an imperative, a command from the Lord Himself.

1.   Ask.  Asking is the expression of the desire of the soul.  “Be anxious for nothing,” Paul wrote to the Philippian believers, “but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.”

Philippians 4:6-7

6                Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

7                And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.   (NAS)

Sometimes naming our requests to God is easy; sometimes it is impossible.  In those times when we do not know what to say, God the Holy Spirit steps in to communicate for us. (Romans 8:26)

“Ask” here is in present tense, referring to continuous action in the present time.  This means that we are to keep on asking, we are to be persistent.  But when God answers, will we be listening?  When we ask, it should be because we want answers.  If we really want answers, we must study.  We should always listen for a correlation between the things we pray for and the things that God talks to us about from the Word.  When we study, when we sit in Bible class, we should be alert to the fact that the information we are receiving may in fact be the answer to the things we have asked in prayer.

2.   Seek.  Seeking is a step beyond asking.  Once we ask, we go looking for the answer.  We go in confidence because Jesus Christ Himself promised that God answers and that if we seek we will find.  When we have made a request of God, we must maintain the spiritual desire to obtain the answer.  Sometimes, after we pray, the situation we are praying about worsens; it begins to look impossible.  God lets that happen often because He wants to know if we believe His promise and are going to follow through.

If we pray for someone else, do we really want that person to obtain what we have asked for?  If so, are we willing to seek to fulfill that request ourselves?  God does answer prayer, but He most often does it – like all of the other miraculous things He performs – through human flesh, through believers, the hands and feet of Jesus Christ on earth.

When we pray that someone else will be strengthened and then we do not go to strengthen that person, or write a letter, or make a phone call, then we have not sought and our prayer is lazy.  When we pray that God will provide for a needy family and we do not give from our store of food or money, then we have not sought and our prayer is lazy.  God may answer our prayer, but He will do it through someone else, and we will not be able to enter into the joy and reward of being part of the answer.

A person who wrestles in prayer will never be inactive in life.  He will always be involved to the maximum, because he believes in the power of prayer and in the power of God.  He believes that if he asks for something, God may choose to use him as the vessel for fulfilling his own prayer.

3.   Knock.  Knocking means that we labor to see our prayer fulfilled.  We can knock in a number of ways.  For example, we knock by way of preparation.  Are we willing to keep knocking in preparing for God’s plan for our life?  We knock in regard to pursuit.  Do we pursue the fulfillment for what we have asked for and sought?  We knock in the area of practical application.  We keep knocking and knock more forcefully.  Why?  Because we really want what we are asking for.  Anything in life that comes without persistence is not worth very much.

Matthew 26:36-45

36                Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to His disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”

37                And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and distressed.

38                Then He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me.”

39                And He went a little beyond {them,} and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as Thou wilt.”

40                And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So, you {men} could not keep watch with Me for one hour?

41                “Keep watching and praying, that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

42                He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Thy will be done.”

43                And again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

44                And He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more.

45                Then He came to the disciples, and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.   (NAS)

All of us have probably at some point in life said, “The pain is so great I feel like I am dying.”  That is exactly how the Lord Jesus Christ felt on this night in the Garden of Gethsemane.  He felt unspeakable grief and distress.  What did He do in response to the feelings?  He did two things that should be an example to us.  First, He prayed about His own situation.  Second, He asked other people to pray in His behalf.

Think about the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself asked for prayer support.  And after He had opened His heart to His friends and asked them to watch and pray for just a while, He went aside to talk to the Father Himself.  When He returned to the disciples, He found them fervently praying.  Is that what Matthew says?  NO.  Three times Jesus went aside to pray, and three times He returned to find them sleeping.

When He first found them asleep, He warned them to pray for themselves, that they would not enter into temptation.  But they didn’t listen.  And because Peter, James and John did not wrestle in their prayer, their rest was soon to be interrupted.  If we rest before we wrestle, we will never be rested enough.

When we cannot pray anything else, there are two prayers that are always right and always fitting and always honoring to God.

One is “Thank you.”

Psalms 50:23

23                “He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors me; and to him who orders {his} way {aright} I shall show the salvation of God.”   (NAS)

1 Thessalonians 5:18

18                in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.   (NAS)

Ephesians 5:20

20                always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;   (NAS)

The other is “Thy will be done.”

Matthew 26:39

39                And He went a little beyond {them,} and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as Thou wilt.”   (NAS)

Energized Prayer

Prayer is like a lamp.  We can turn it on and off, on and off, but if it is not plugged in to the power source, if it is not energized, nothing will happen.  Every prayer we pray is either energized or it is not.  When it is, we are letting loose an earthshaking power.

James 5:16 tells us that “the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”  A better translation of that would be :  “the energized prayer of any believer has great power.”  The word “effective” comes from energeo, the root of the English word “energy;” it means “to energize.”  The word “accomplish” is ischuos, the strongest of five Greek words for power.  It means “applied power, demonstrated power,”  God will demonstrate His power through the energized prayer of His children.

The “righteous man” is anyone who has been imputed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ.  Because we are in Christ, we have access to God 24 hours a day for the rest of our lives.

Hebrews 4:16

16        Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.   (NAS)

In James 5:17, the Lord’s brother reinforces the principle that anyone’s prayers can be powerful when he says that “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours.”  That is an extremely important little statement.  It tells us that the prophet Elijah, known among the Jews for his phenomenal prayer power and prayer ministry, was a natural human being.  He had a sin nature; he struggled with areas of weakness; he knew what it was like to sin and to fail.  But his prayer power was not based on anything in Elijah; it was based on God.

So how can we “energize” our prayers?  Every time we stop to pray, we should ask ourselves two questions:

1.            Am I in fellowship?

Ephesians 6:18

18                With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,   (NAS)

Sin throws up a barrier between God and us and short-circuits our prayer.

Isaiah 59:2

2                But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden {His} face from you, so that He does not hear.   (NAS)

Self-examination and confession removes the barrier and restores us to fellowship.

1 John 1:9

9                If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   (NAS)

1 John 3:21-22

21                Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;

22                and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.   (NAS)

If we have unconfessed sins in our lives, if we are not yielded to the Holy Spirit, our prayers are works of the flesh and have absolutely no power.

2.            Am I praying according to the will of God?

John 15:7

7                “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.   (NAS)

1 John 5:14-15

14                And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

15                And if we know that He hears us {in} whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.   (NAS)

How do we pray according to His will?  We have to know His Word.  Lack of study will rob us of the ability to pray effectively.  Jesus said that whatever we ask in faith, we will receive.  But what is “faith?”  It is a response to God’s Word.

We cannot ask for something in faith unless the Word of God declares that what we ask is the will of God.  When we know the Word and our will is in line with His will, then our prayer will be powerful prayer.

Paul tells us in Colossians 4:2 to devote ourselves to prayer, “keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.”  There are five dangers to which we should be alert:

1.            Failure to confess.

Isaiah 59:2

2                But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden {His} face from you, so that He does not hear.   (NAS)

2.            Failure to study.

John 15:7

7                “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.   (NAS)

3.            Failure to obey.

1 John 3:22

22                and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.   (NAS)

1 Peter 3:7

7                You husbands likewise, live with {your wives} in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.   (NAS)

4.            Failure to ask according to God’s will.

1 John 5:14-15

14                And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

15                And if we know that He hears us {in} whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.   (NAS)

5.            Infiltration of personal lusts.

James 4:2-3

2                You lust and do not have; {so} you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain; {so} you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

3                You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend {it} on your pleasures.   (NAS)

If we are alert to those dangers and can say “yes” to those two questions, we can pray in faith-rest, knowing that what we ask will be done in God’s perfect time.  Jesus Himself said in John 15:7, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.”

Essence Of God

ESSENCE OF GOD

The Bible does not seek to prove the existence of God; it assumes His existence to be true. Comprehension of the doctrine of the “Trinity” and Divine Essence must be Spiritually perceived and believed by Faith.

The following are ten characteristics that make up the Divine Essence of God.

1: Sovereignty: Supreme in power, highest in authority, ultimately in control

2: Eternal life: God has neither beginning nor end. Always has existed and always will exist and is not limited or subject to time.

3: Love: “Agape”, unconditional, impersonal love. God loves us not because of who or what we are but because of who and what he is. Not emotion or feelings.

4: Justice: God is perfectly just and fair.

5: Righteousness: (+R) holy, perfect, good and free from sin or wrong.

6: Immutability: God never changes and can never change. Absolute stability. He will never increase or decrease. His essence will always be the same.

7: Veracity: Absolute truth. God cannot lie; therefore His Word is true so we can depend on it.

8: Omniscience: All knowing. He knows the past, present and future. He knows potentiality and reality.

9: Omnipotence: All-powerful. Limitless in ability. (Can never violate His                      essence.)

10: Omnipresence: Everywhere present simultaneously, therefore He can give us time and attention as if we were the only person on the planet.

The Trinity

To say that God is Three in One is simply to say that God is Three Persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) and that these Three Persons have exactly the same characteristics:  S,EL,L,J,+R,O,O,O,I,V.  This is all that God is Three in One means – no more and no less.  Any way this meaning is changed will only confuse the issue.  Whether you say 3 in 1, or 1 in 3, or Triune God, or Trinity, it all comes out the same.  There are Three Persons of the Godhead with exactly the same characteristics:  The Father has the characteristics of sovereignty, eternal life, love, justice, righteousness, omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, immutability and veracity.  The Son has the characteristics of sovereignty, eternal life, love, justice, righteousness, omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, immutability and veracity.  And the Holy Spirit has the characteristics of Sovereignty, eternal life, love, justice, righteousness, omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, immutability and veracity.

Although God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have exactly the same characteristics (S,EL,L,J,+R,O,O,O,I,V), the Three Persons of the Godhead do not have the same function (job description).  In a meeting held in eternity past all three members of the Godhead determined how each of them would function in relation to all of creation.

Acts 2:23

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel [ the predetermined plan, God’s set purpose, His prearranged plan ] and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:  (KJV)

The job descriptions of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in relationship to the PLAN OF GOD for our lives is as follows:

A.  Father: author of the Plan

1 Corinthians 8:6a  yet for us there is {but} one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we {exist} for Him; . . . (NAS)

B.   Son: executor of the Plan.

John 5:30  “I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. (NAS)

1 Corinthians 8:6b . . . and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things and we {exist} through Him. (NAS)

C.  Holy Spirit: revealer of the Plan, restorer to the Plan.

John 14:26

26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. (NAS)

Titus 3:5

5   He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, (NAS)

Genesis 1:2

2   And the earth was formless and void and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. (NAS)

Most people who say, “God,” do not know of whom they speak, but they are referring either (1) to the entire Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), or they are referring (2) only

0.

to God the Father.  When someone raises a question about the God of Christianity, it is legitimate to ask “God who?” God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, or the entire Godhead?  Just because the job description of God the Son is different from the job descriptions of God the Father and God the Holy Spirit makes Him no less God than the Father or the Holy Spirit.  Job descriptions for the Godhead were determined by one characteristic, Sovereignty, while total essence determines deity.

4 Things every Believer Should Know.

FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH

GOAL OF EVERY BELIEVER=BECOME EXACTLY LIKE CHRIST IN HIS HUMANITY(ROMANS 8 V29. PREDESTINED TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON.)

THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE IN THE SPHERE OF THE SPIRIT. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO IN THE FLESH. (ALTHOUGH MANY ARE TRYING!) 4 THINGS A BELIEVER SHOULD KNOW BEFORE ANY SPIRITUAL GROWTH IS POSSIBLE ARE AS FOLLOWS:

IT IS FUTILE TO SEEK TO GROW BY MEANS OF THESE TRUTHS, THEY ARE FOUNDATIONAL, BUT IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE GROW UPON THIS IMPERISHABLE FOUNDATION

1: BORN AGAIN

2: ACCEPTED IN CHRIST

3: ETERNALLY SECURE

4: POSITIONAL TRUTH

NO GROWTH TO MATURITY IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT A KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THESE FOUNDATIONAL FACTS.IN THE FOLLOWING PAGES WE WILL LOOK AT EACH OF THESE POINTS AND DISCUSS THEM IN MORE DETAIL.

1: BORN AGAIN. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BORN AGAIN?JESUS TOLD NICODEMUS HE HAD TO BE BORN AGAIN. JOHN 3V5. NICODEMUS QUESTIONED,” CAN A MAN ENTER THE WOMB A SECOND TIME?” TO THE NATURAL MAN THIS STATEMENT WOULD SEEM TO SUGGEST JUST THAT. LETS START AT THE BEGINNING AND LOOK AT WHAT IS MEANT BY BORN AGAIN. GENESIS 2V7 THE LORD GOD FORMED MAN OF THE DUST OF THE EARTH AND BREATHED INTO HIM THE BREATH OF LIFE AND MAN BECAME A LIVING BEING. IN THIS VERSE THE WORD LIFE IN THE HEBREW (THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE) ACTUALLY MEANS LIVES, PLURAL. MAN WAS CREATED “TRICOTOMUS”. THREE PARTS. BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT. BODY-FLESH FORMED FROM THE DUST. SCIENCE HAS PROVED THIS.SOUL-MANS BEING. WHAT HE IS AND HOW HE THINKS. (5 COMPARTMENTS) 1: Mentality2: Self-conscience3: Volition4: Emotion5: Conscience SPIRIT-THAT PART WITHIN RELATED TO, WORSHIP, COMMUNION, DIVINE INFLUENCE. WHEN ADAM SINNED BY DISOBEYING GOD HE DIED. NOT PHYSICALLY BUT SPIRITUALLY. THUS HIS SPIRIT DIED. NOW MAN IS BORN DICHOTOMOUS. BODY AND SOUL.IT IS THE SPIRITUAL DEATH THAT SEPARATES US FROM GOD. AND EACH PERSON THAT IS BORN INTO THIS WORLD IS SEPARATED FROM GOD, BY GOD, BY THE IMPUTATION OF ADAMS ORIGINAL SIN TO THE GENETICALLY PREPARED OLD SIN NATURE, AT THE MOMENT OF PHYSICAL BIRTH. THUS WE ARE SINNERS BEFORE WE EVEN SIN. (ROMANS 5 V 12 THEREFORE, JUST AS THROUGH ONE MAN SIN ENTERED INTO THE WORLD, AND DEATH THROUGH SIN, AND SO DEATH SPREAD TO ALL MEN…) WE NEED TO BE RECONCILED BACK TO GOD BY THE MEANS THAT GOD HAS PROVIDED. THAT IS, THE DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST. HE DIED ON THE CROSS-. FOR 3 HOURS GOD THE FATHER IMPUTED EVERY SIN THAT EVER HAS BEEN OR EVER WILL BE TO HIS SON, THUS PAYING THE PRICE THAT GOD’S ABSOLUTE RIGHTEOUSNESS DEMANDS. GOD THE FATHER IS COMPLETELY SATISFIED (PROPITIATED) WITH THE PAYMENT THAT JESUS PROCURED. JESUS WAS THE ONLY PERSON THAT COULD SATISFY GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS BECAUSE HE WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, SINLESS. THAT’S WHY SALVATION IS NEVER ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHAT MAN CAN DO FOR GOD, BECAUSE MAN CAN DO NOTHING TO JUSTIFY HIMSELF TO GOD. IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS CHRIST AND WHAT HE HAS DONE. GOD THE FATHER’S JUSTICE HAS BEEN SATISFIED AND FROM HIS LOVE GOD HAS SAID THAT “ WHOSOEVER BELIEVES ON HIM (JESUS CHRIST), SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.” THUS A SIMPLE ACT OF FAITH BY BELIEVING ON JESUS CHRIST, TRUSTING WHAT HE HAS DONE, IS WHAT SAVES A PERSON. AT THIS MOMENT OF BELIEF, THE PERSON IS “BORN AGAIN” OF THE SPIRIT. 1 PETER 1 V 23 BORN AGAIN NOT OF CORRUPTIBLE SEED BUT OF INCORRUPTIBLE SEED…. BEING BORN AGAIN IS NOT A FEELING OR AN EXPERIENCE FELT IN THE BODY. IT IS FAITH IN THE WORD OF GOD. “GOD SAID IT AND I AM GOING TO BELIEVE IT BECAUSE GOD SAID IT AND I AM GOING TO TRUST IN WHAT HE SAYS.” THERE MAY BE, AND OFTENTIMES THERE IS EMOTION FELT AT THE MOMENT OF SALVATION, JOY, GLADNESS, RELIEF, FEELING OF BURDEN BEING LIFTED ETC. THESE MAY BE THE RESULT BUT NEVER THE PROOF.

2: ACCEPTED IN CHRIST. OUR FATHER IS ABLE TO ACCEPT US FULLY IN HIS SON. EP1V6 TO THE PRAISE OF THE GLORY OF HIS GRACE. WHEREIN HE HATH MADE US ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED. MOST BELIEVERS REASON WRONGLY THAT, WHEN ALL IS GOING WELL, AND GOD SEEMS TO BE BLESSING THEM, IT IS THEN THAT THEY FEEL HE LOVES, AND ACCEPTS THEM. BUT WHEN THEY ARE STUMBLING, AND EVERYTHING SEEMS DRY AND HARD, THEN THEY FEEL THAT HE DOES NOT LOVE AND ACCEPT THEM. (QUOTE BY MILES STANFORD). THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY SO MANY CHRISTIANS ARE BUSY DOING GOOD WORKS AND LOTS OF SERVICE FOR JESUS. THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE THEMSELVES ACCEPTABLE TO GOD. WHILE GOOD WORKS AND SERVICE ARE PART OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE THEY ARE NEVER THE “MEANS” BUT ALWAYS THE RESULT OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE. GOD’S WAYS ARE NOT MANS WAYS. HE HAS ACCEPTED US IN HIS SON, AND UPON THIS FACT WE MUST REST OUR FAITH. AS IN JUSTIFICATION, OUR ACCEPTANCE IS BY GRACE ALONE. GOD ACCEPTS YOU FULLY. NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PAST, NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU THINK YOU HAVE BEEN OR HOW BAD YOU FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF. HOW MANY FRIENDS YOU HAVE OR HAVEN’T GOD ACCEPTS YOU. NOT BECAUSE OF YOU BUT BECAUSE OF CHRIST IN YOU. WHEN YOU ARE BORN AGAIN GOD FULLY ACCEPTS YOU ON THE BASIS OF HIS SATISFACTION WITH HIS SON. YOUR “GOOD WORKS OR LACK OF GOOD WORKS” CAN NEVER CHANGE GODS ACCEPTANCE OF YOU. THIS IS A FACT, WHICH FAITH MUST BE RESTED UPON BY THE BELIEVER. WE HAVE NOTHING GOOD IN US TO BE ACCEPTED BY GOD. BUT IN HIM ALONE COMES OUR ACCEPTANCE. J N DARBY WRITES- “WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT REASONS WITH MAN, HE DOES NOT REASON FROM WHAT MAN IS FOR GOD, BUT FROM WHAT GOD IS FOR MAN. SOULS REASON FROM WHAT THEY ARE IN THEMSELVES AS TO WHETHER GOD CAN ACCEPT THEM. HE CANNOT ACCEPT YOU THUS; YOU ARE LOOKING FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS IN YOURSELF AS A GROUND OF ACCEPTANCE WITH HIM. YOU CANNOT GET PEACE WHILE REASONING THAT WAY.” ISH 64V6 ALL OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS ARE AS FILTHY RAGS. (THE ORIGINAL HEBREW MEANS “MENSTRUAL RAGS”) TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND GODS ACCEPTANCE OF YOU IS TO BE AT GREAT PEACE WITH GOD. ROMANS 5V1 …WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.ROMANS 5V8 GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE PEACE WITH US THROUGH HIS BELOVED SON. COL 1V20 HAVING MADE PEACE BY THE BLOOD OF HIS CROSS. “THERE BEING NO CAUSE IN THE CREATURE WHY GRACE SHOULD BE SHOWN, THE CREATURE MUST BE BROUGHT OFF FROM TRYING TO GIVE CAUSE FOR HIS CARE. HE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED IN CHRIST, WHO IS HIS STANDING. HE IS NOT ON PROBATION. AS TO HIS PAST LIFE, IT DOES NOT EXIST BEFORE GOD. HE (the old man) DIED AT THE CROSS AND CHRIST IS HIS LIFE. GRACE ONCE BESTOWED IS NEVER TAKEN AWAY: FOR GOD KNEW ALL THE HUMAN EXIGENCIES BEFOREHAND. HIS ACTIONS WAS INDEPENDENT OF THEM NOT DEPENDENT ON THEM.” “TO BELIEVE, AND TO CONSENT TO BE LOVED WHILE UNWORTHY, IS THE GREAT SECRET.” WILLIAM R NEWELL. ROMANS VERSE BY VERSE.

3: ETERNALLY SECURE 2 PRINCIPLES.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A TRUE UNDERSTANDING OF SALVATION, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO HAVE A TRUE UNDERSTANDING OF ETERNAL SECURITY.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A TRUE UNDERSTANDING OF ETERNAL SECURITY, YOU DO NOT HAVE A TRUE UNDERSTANDING OF SALVATION.

WHAT IS ETERNAL SECURITY? KNOWN OTHERWISE AS “ ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED”IT IS THE KNOWLEDGE THAT ONCE A PERSON BELIEVES IN CHRIST FOR HIS SALVATION HE CAN NEVER LOOSE IT. NO SCRIPTURE WHEN “RIGHTLY DIVIDED” 2TIM2V15, IS CONTRARY WITH THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER. SALVATION IS BASED ON 1 CONDITION ONLY. “BELIEVE.” FOR BY GRACE ARE YOU SAVED THROUGH FAITH, NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN BOAST.EP 2 V8, 9 JOHN 3V16 …WHOSOEVER BELIEVES…PAUL TOLD THE PHILIP IAN JAILER TO “BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND YOU WILL BE SAVED. GOD CANNOT LIE. HE CANNOT DENY HIMSELF. WHAT HE SAYS, HE MUST DO. AT THE MOMENT OF SALVATION WE ARE SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, EPH 1V4, AND 4V30. THIS IS A GUARANTEE OF OWNERSHIP. YOU NOW BELONG TO GOD. YOU ARE HIS SON FOREVER, GAL 3V26. NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM GOD ROM 8V38, 39, NOT EVEN YOURSELF (ERRONEOUS ARMINIAN IDEA THAT BECAUSE YOU HAD THE FREEWILL TO CHOOSE GOD YOU THUS HAVE THE CHOICE TO REJECT HIM IF YOU WANT. THIS IDEA IS REFUTED BY 2TIM 2V13 …IF WE ARE FAITHLESS, HE IS STILL FAITHFUL, FOR HE CANNOT DENY HIMSELF.) A PERSONS LIFESTYLE BEFORE OR AFTER SALVATION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SALVATION ITSELF. THE TRUE CHRISTIAN LIFESTYLE WILL BE A RESULT OF SALVATION BUT NEVER THE MEANS OR THE PROOF. (LORDSHIP SALVATION-IF YOU DON’T DO THIS OR THAT YOU NEVER HAVE BEEN SAVED AT ALL) NEITHER WILL IT BE A MEANS OF KEEPING OR ATTAINING YOUR SALVATION. THESE ARE FALSE THEORIES WRONGLY INTERPRETED BY MAN TO ENSURE THAT THE CHRISTIAN LIVES HIS LIFE A CERTAIN WAY. WE CALL THIS WAY “THE ETHICAL STANDARDS OF THE CHRISTIAN WAY OF LIFE”. IT IS A LIST OF DO’S AND DON’TS THAT IS A SO CALLED STANDARD ACROSS THE BOARD THAT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE SAVED AND UNSAVED UNDERSTAND IS TO BE THE CHRISTIAN WAY OF LIFE. EXAMPLES BEING, DON’T DRINK, DON’T SMOKE, DON’T DANCE, DON’T WEAR MAKE-UP, ETC. THE LIST CHANGES FROM COUNTRY TO COUNTRY, TOWN-TO-TOWN, DENOMINATION-TO-DENOMINATION AND CUSTOM-TO-CUSTOM.DO’S AND DON’TS WILL COME FROM CONVICTION OF THE CONSCIENCE AS YOU STUDY AND APPLY THE WORD OF GOD.BELIEVING ETERNAL SECURITY IS NOT A LICENCE TO SIN, BUT A LICENCE TO SERVE. THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS TO BE LIVED IN THE WAY GOD HAS DESIGNED (BY MEANS OF THE SPIRIT AND NOT THE FLESH) AND WILL BE REWARDED BOTH IN TIME AND ETERNITY. A LIFESTYLE OF SIN WILL RESULT IN DIVINE DISCIPLINE ULTIMATELY RESULTING IN PHYSICAL DEATH. (GOD TAKES HIS PEOPLE HOME)
ETERNAL SECURITY VERSES. ROMANS 8 V 31-39, EPH 1 V13-14, 2 V 19-22, PHIL 1 V 6, 1TIM 1 V 16, JOHN 10 V 27-30, 1 COR 1 V 4-8, 1 THES 5 V 23-24, 2 TIM 2 V 11-13. THIS LIST IS BY NO MEANS EXHAUSTIVE.

4: POSITIONAL TRUTH POSITIONAL TRUTH IN THE SIMPLEST FORM OF UNDERSTANDING IS GODS VIEWPOINT OF YOU THE BELIEVER. IE. HOW GOD SEES YOU NOW AS ONE OF HIS CHILDREN. HOW DOES GOD SEE YOU NOW AS ONE OF HIS OWN? THE REAL ANSWER IS INCOMPREHENSIBLE TO THE HUMAN FINITE MIND BUT HERE ARE A FEW TRUTHS THAT WE CAN AND MUST STAND UPON.AT THE MOMENT OF SALVATION 51 THINGS HAPPEN TO YOU. WHETHER YOU KNOW THEM ALL OR NOT IS IRRELEVANT TO GOD. ONE OF THESE IS IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS. THIS MEANS THAT GOD MAKES YOU COMPLETELY RIGHTEOUS. IN HIS EYES YOU ARE AS RIGHTEOUS AT THE MOMENT OF SALVATION AS YOU WILL BE FOREVER. THIS IS CALLED,”POSITIONAL TRUTH”. NOW, WE KNOW THAT IN THE FLESH WE ARE NOT RIGHTEOUS BUT THIS IS OUR CONDITION. WHAT GOD SEES IS YOUR POSITION. MAKE THE DISTINCTION. IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT. YOUR POSITION WILL NEVER CHANGE, REGARDLESS OF ANYTHING. YOUR CONDITION CAN AND WILL. AS WE TRAVEL THROUGH THIS LIFE, WE MAY SIN, GRIEVE OR QUENCH THE SPIRIT. WE MAY HAVE TIMES WHEN WE FEEL AS FAR AWAY FROM GOD AS EVER. WE MAY FEEL LIKE THE PRODIGAL SON BUT STILL GODS VIEWPOINT WILL NEVER CHANGE. NOW HE WILL DEAL WITH US ACCORDING TO OUR CONDITION, THIS IS CALLED CHASTENING AND DISCIPLINE AS SONS AND THIS IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POSITION AND CONDITION. CONDITIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL TRUTH = THE CHANGING AND IMPERFECT CONDITION OF THE SOUL FROM MOMENT TO MOMENT.POSITIONAL TRUTH = THE UNCHANGEABLE AND PERFECT WORK OF GOD FOR THE BELIEVER. FAITH SECURES OUR POSITION WHILE ADHERENCE TO THE LAWS OF THE SPIRITUAL LIFE KEEPS US IN FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. GOD CAN ONLY FELLOWSHIP WITH PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS. AND BECAUSE JESUS IS PERFECTLY RIGHTEOUS AND WE BELIEVE ON HIM, GOD IMPUTES THIS RIGHTEOUSNESS TO US THUS GOD CAN FELLOWSHIP WITH US BASED ON HIS SON.GOD ALSO SEES YOU SEATED WITH CHRIST IN THE HEAVENLIES EPH 2 V 5-6. GOD SEES THE END RESULT HERE A FEW MORE POSITIONAL TRUTHS. GAL 3 V 26 CHILDREN OF GOD V 29 HEIRS OF PROMISE 4 V 7 NO LONGER A SLAVE BUT A SON, AN HEIREPH 1 V 3 SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT V 13 BLESSED WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS (HOW MANY DO YOU LACK THEN?)COL 2 V 9-10 COMPLETE IN HIM1 COR 3 V 16 INDWELT BY THE HOLY SPIRIT1 COR 12 V 12-13 BAPTISED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT INTO CHRISTEPH 5 V 18 EVERY BELIEVER HAS THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING FILLED BY MEANS OF THE SPIRIT FOR LIFE AND SERVICE.COL 1 V 27 CHRIST IN YOU2 COR 2 V 5 A NEW CREATION. YOU ARE A NEW SPIRITUAL SPECIES ROM 6 V 6 OLD SIN NATURE HAS BEEN CRUCIFIED THESE ARE THE MAIN FOUNDATIONAL POSITIONAL TRUTHS. ALL OF THESE TAKE PLACE AT THE MOMENT OF SALVATION AND ARE NON-EXPERIENTIAL .IE YOU DON’T FEEL A THING. GROWTH TO MATURITY AND THE CHRISTIAN WALK SHOULD BE MOTIVATED FROM POSITIONAL TRUTH.

Welcome to Mark Williamson Bible Ministry

Hello and welcome to my blog site. Please take a few moments to browse through some of my documents and links available. My desire for this site is two fold;

1: To spread the Good News which is:Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.

2: If you are already saved, to teach you how to live the Spiritual life that God has designed and provided for you and to teach you how to Rightly Divide the Word of God as Paul told Timothy in, 2 Tim 2v15. I teach this using an hermenutical principle called Pauline Dispensationalism which in my opinion is the only correct interpretation of the Bible. If you are not saved but are interested in finding out how, click on this link http://www.brettell.org/index.html to find more information on how to be saved and know for sure that when you die you will go to heaven. If you are saved and are interested in growing spiritually and finding out what Gods plan and purpose is for your life, I recommend you start by reading Miles Standfords book called Pauline Dispensationalism. My good friend and mentor Dr Jim Brettell has an excellent study available to download on MP3 format in which he does a line for line exposition on this book.

My prayer for each person who embarks on this journey is: Ephesians 1 v 18: that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who BELIEVE.
